Devara Kills The Hype Of Bollywood Biggie

The clash between “Salaar” and “Dunki” last year during the Christmas season turned quite ugly, but it’s undeniable that both films garnered attention and grabbed headlines due to the clash.

Now, with NTR’s “Devara” initially set to clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” during Eid 2024, expectations were high for another showdown.

Considering the series of disappointments, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” is pivotal for Akshay Kumar, being a big-budget film. The success of this movie is crucial for his continued status as a bankable hero. The clash with “Devara” was actually aiding “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” in terms of generating hype.

However, “Devara” was recently postponed to a later date in the second half of 2024. This postponement significantly diminished the hype surrounding “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” What was initially anticipated as a sure-shot 300 crore film at the box office is now facing the risk of being a flop or, at best, average.

In “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar are teaming up for the first time under the direction of Ali Abbas Zafar. Despite extensive shooting in Mumbai, London, Abu Dhabi, Scotland, and Jordan, audience and trade are quite doubtful whether the film will meet expectations.

The teaser fails to leave a lasting impression, reminiscent of previous action films like “Pathaan,” “Tiger,” and “Jawan,” lacking the innovative spark required to stand out.

Both actors have encountered recent setbacks at the box office, prompting doubts about their ability to deliver a hit. Additionally, their roles as patriotic heroes have become predictable.

Overall future doesn’t look too bright for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and the postponement of Devara has hurt its hype big time.
