Nandamuri Kalyan Ram steps into the shoes of a British secret agent in the upcoming film, “Devil – The British Secret Agent,” set for a December 29, 2023 release, marking a grand farewell to the year and a cinematic welcome to 2024.
The recently unveiled trailer hints that the film is expected to immerse audiences in the British era as Kalyan Ram tackles a murder mystery within a castle.
Kalyan Ram scored a big blockbuster with Bimbisara but followed it up with a flop like Amigos. He needs Devil to work in a big way at the box office to prove his consistency at the box office.
The film stars Samyuktha Menon in a glamorous role opposite Kalyan Ram. She has been hailed as the golden leg after she delivered consecutive hits like Sir, Bimbisara, and Virupaksha. Even Bhemla Nayak was a decent grosser.
It would be interesting to see if she will once again prove to be a lucky mascot for Kalyan Ram’s Devil. The film suffered its share of controversies because of the change in directors.
The film looks to be made on a grand scale and it will need to do more than just decent business to recover its costs. The makers will not mind if Samyuktha’s lucky charm helps the film’s run and her golden streak continues with Devil as well.
