Teaser Effect – Telugu Director Arrested Before Release!

In what comes as shock and surprise to film community, the director for a new and upcoming Telugu film was taken under arrest today for hurting religious sentiments. According to the complaint from an activist of Bajrang Dal, the director was responsible for some scenes that disrespected a religious symbol.

The director in question is Dasari Sairam and the film is Devuda. Just recently, the film teaser of Devuda had been shared on Youtube. The teaser included a scene where the hero of the film was seen pouring whiskey and cigarettes in a Shivlinga which was disliked by many people.

Ultimately, Bajrang Dal leader U Naveen filed a complaint with the police against director Sairam for hurting religious sentiments and the director was then apprehended from Film Nagar here by a special operation team of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
