Dhanush Has No Interest in the Telugu Market!

Dhanush’s 50th film, Raayan released the other day in Tamil and Telugu.

The opening of the film is very poor. Asian Suresh Entertainment released the movie in the Telugu States.

Dhanush’s films have a sizeable interest in the audience. For that matter, his ‘Sir’ movie did very well here.

However, the approach of Dhanush as well as Asian Suresh Entertainment for the movie in Telugu is flawed.

The promotions are almost non-existent for the film. Dhanush did not even give one day for the promotions in Telugu.

They only had a Pre-release event and brushed off their hands. There were no other promotions apart from that.

In fact, the audience does not know the movie is releasing.

It is not that good promotions can change the film’s fate altogether but then, in this age of ballooning budgets and remunerations, stars should make all attempts to expand their markets. At least the intent and attempt should be there.

Tamil actors these days are doing formality releases in Telugu. The Telugu buyers like Suniel Narang and Suresh Babu are doing releases on Commission. They get feeding for their theaters and commission on whatever the film collects.

All films are unlikely to attract buyers. The dubbing market is at an all-time low these days. But the actors need to concentrate on promotions in the case of ‘Formality Releases’.

On one side, there are actors toiling hard promoting their films across the country in the name of Pan-India markets, and there are films like this doing ‘Formality Releases’

Dhanush will be next seen in a straight Telugu film, Kubera produced by Suniel Narang. But if you have such non-serious releases between straight releases, it will be of no use to create a market.
