Dhanush Permanently Breaks Ties with Aishwarya

Tamil actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth have officially divorced after nearly 20 years of marriage.

The Chennai Family Welfare Court granted the divorce, as the couple stated they could no longer live together. Their divorce proceedings were delayed several times, with both parties missing hearings.

Dhanush and Aishwarya, married in 2004, have two sons, Yatra and Linga. Even though they are separating, they continue to live near each other in Chennai’s Poes Garden and co-parent their children.

The couple first announced their separation on January 17, 2022, with Dhanush posting on social media, reflecting on their 18 years of togetherness and mutual growth. Aishwarya also shared a similar statement.

Dhanush was in the headlines recently because of a legal dispute with Nayanthara. The issue began when Nayanthara used a behind-the-scenes clip from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

Dhanush, whose company Wunderbar Films produced the film, refused to grant permission for the clip and demanded 10 crore in damages. He filed a civil suit against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Sivan, and their company Rowdy Pictures Private Limited.

The Madras High Court will hear the case next, and Nayanthara and Vignesh must respond to the legal notice.
