It was director Vetrimaaran’s film Aadukalam (Pandem Kollu in Telugu) with Dhanush that earned him his first and only National Award for best actor. Ever since the two have been mulling to come together for a film but that never got materialized. Now it’s all set and what’s more, the actor, who also produces this film has put aside 200 shooting days for it.
Titled Vada Chennai, the film is an epic gangster tale set in Chennai and spans over three decades. It will be made as a two part film ala Raktha Charithra and Gangs of Wasseypur. This official announcement regarding the project has already made it the most eagerly awaited film in the coming years in Tamil cinema.
