Dhoni goes to Supreme Court!

Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is involved in a controversy again, this time for ‘hurting the sentiments of people’. The cricketer was accused of “denigrating” a Hindu God by posing as Lord Vishnu on the cover of a magazine, with the title ‘The God of Big Deals’, and Jayakumar Hiremath, a social activist, had filed a complaint against him in the Karnataka High Court.

However, according to latest news, Dhoni had filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court last Thursday which postponed the hearing to 14th September. He had been summoned by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, which registered Hiremath’s case, to appear before the court but Dhoni moved the High Court against its direction.

Regarding the issue, the High Court had stated that being a popular figure in the country, Dhoni should have been aware of the consequences of hurting the religious sentiments of the people.
