Film producers rarely speak openly about losses, even when a project causes heavy financial damage. Most choose silence over honesty, knowing that naming failures can strain relationships with top actors and trigger backlash from fan groups. Even leading producers follow this unwritten rule.
Dil Raju’s recent stance made that clear.
At the trailer launch of Gayapadda Simham, he was asked a direct question, which film caused the biggest “wound” in his career. Instead of naming a project, he gave a safe, measured response. Every flop, he said, feels like a wound, while every hit brings happiness.
When pushed further to name a specific film, he refused to take the bait. Pointing at the media, he remarked that revealing a name would only create unnecessary controversy and tension with the actor involved. He laughed it off, but the intent was obvious, he was not going to risk it.
Meanwhile, speculations already surfaced online. Some social media users claim that if Dil Raju had answered honestly, he might have named Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan. The film caused massive financial losses, and allegedly he was on the verge of closing his banner when it was released in January 2025.
The immediate success of Sankrantiki Vasthunam during the same month helped stabilize his banner during that difficult phase. Many speculate that without the blockbuster Sankrantiki Vasthunam, the wounds from Game Changer might not have healed.
