Director's effigy burnt to stop the film!

Seems the descendants of the dynasties which ruled Maharashtra aren’t happy with the upcoming historic drama ‘Bajirao Masthani’. The film is mired in controversies but going to hit theatres within a couple of days. The maker of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali seems to be unmoved by the controversies.

Angered by the stance of the director, the descendants of Peshwa dynasty and Chhatrasal dynasty are spitting fire on the director. They even burnt an effigy of the director in Shaniwarwada in Pune. They are angry that Bhansali has distorted the historical facts and taken cinematic liberties for misinterpretation of the facts.

This wasn’t the first protest. The descendants began protests by conducting a press conference against the film and now the effigy burning incident happened. Amidst such controversies, we have to wait and see how ‘Bajirao Masthani’ will have a smooth release in Maharashtra.
