Shankar vs Rajini – Rajini shows who’s the boss

It can be said without any doubt that Shankar and Rajinikanth are two of the biggest stars from outside Telugu states in Telugu Film Industry. But who’s the biggest of them? We had an answer to this question in beginning of last year when Shankar’s ‘I’ outdid Rajinikanth’s Lingaa in each and every way possible.

However after the disappointment of Lingaa, Rajinikanth has again shown why he is the real boss. With a regular commercial film like Kabali and that too with unknown director he has beaten the pre release records of Shankar’s ‘I’ in Telugu. Imagine a scenario in reverse where Shankar makes a regular film with an unknown actor? Remember Snehitudu? That’s right very few know such a film even exists.

These cases prove that Superstar in indeed the boss and Lingaa was a minor blip in the long history. Next thing on the list should be crossing the collections of ‘I’ in Telugu with Kabali. This should seal the deal. Kabali is slated to arrive for Eid according to latest updates as trade doesn’t want it to have pre Eid release effect.
