Director’s Response on No Beeps for Boothulu

‘Falaknuma Das’ trailer had some abusive words that looked quite interwoven into the narrative. Nevertheless, they are the ones that register very easily due to their controversial nature. The hero cum director Vishwak Sen has his own explanation for using the abusive words.

He says that he wants to show the real culture of the people and such abusive words are indeed quite common in our day-to-day life. He sounded satirical when he said that he should have included the disclaimer that the movie isn’t for children and old people. His target audiences are different. ‘Falaknuma Das’ is for the audiences between 14-30 age group. For 14-year-old youngsters, it’s their present. According to Vishwak Sen, for 30-year old people, it’s their recent past.

The filmmaker chose not to beep those abusive words i.e., Boothulu in proper Telugu. Well, young filmmakers want their characters to look raw instead of showing them off in polished language. By the way, this movie is a remake of Angamaly Diaries (Malayalam). The director says that he liked only the first half of the film and changed the rest to suit Telugu audiences liking.
