Prestigious Biopic – Can Telugu Makers Pull It Off?

It was last December in 2018 when there were hearsays about the prestigious biopic on the Missile Man of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and that popular Bollywood star Anil Kapoor might be reprising the titular role in the biopic.

Finally, here comes the announcement from producer Abhishek Agarwal along with Anil Sunkara announcing the prestigious biopic on one of the most influential personalities we had seen in contemporary times. It’s still in the pre-production stages, and therefore, we need to wait for more details on the project.

Here, we have a concern. Telugu filmmakers are not known to make authentic biopics. The recent political biopics prove that the makers had their own agenda to impress the followers of the political personalities on whom the biopics were made instead of offering genuine stuff to the audiences.

But, this one on Abdul Kalam would be different, and a very prestigious one. Can our Telugu filmmakers pull it off? Will they stick to facts or add drama for the sake of being salable? Let’s see. It’s too early to even speculate.
