Drug Bust: Actress Loses Rs 5 Lakh

Cyber frauds are happening at an alarming rate these days. These attacks are mostly aimed at unaware normal people but sometimes, celebrities too fall prey to the same, and here is one such story.

Anjali Patil, a Bollywood actress who was seen in films like Kaala and Naa Bangaru Thalli has been duped for Rs 5.79 lakh rupee in a brief drug bust scam.

First, Anjali received a phone call from a man who claimed to be an employee of a logistical and transport company. He allegedly told her that her Aadhar details were found on a drug packet that was on its way to Taiwan. He claimed that the drug packet had been seized and police would be taking action against her.

After that, another man called the actress posed as a cyber police officer and spun a story about the drug bust and linked it to her. He then looted Rs 5.79 lakh from the actress, saying he will get her out of this.

After the actress paid the money, the miscreant stopped picking up her calls. The actress then approached DN Nagar police who have now filed a case and are tracking the culprits.
