Rumours had been circulating on social media that Lokah would stream on Netflix from September 26, following a four-week OTT window. These speculations intensified after Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam team announced its OTT release on the same date via Jio Hotstar.
However, producer Dulquer Salmaan officially confirmed that the film will not be released on OTT anytime soon. He asked fans to ignore misleading reports and wait for official updates from the production house.
Trade experts welcomed this update, noting that Lokah continues to dominate theaters. It has become the highest-grossing female-centric movie in India, and postponing the OTT release could boost box office collections, especially with the upcoming Pooja holidays.
Some reports suggest that the OTT rights for Lokah are still unsold, which might be another reason for the delay. Audiences will have to wait to see when the film finally arrives on digital platforms and whether it matches its theatrical success online.
