Dunki Gets Unexpected Response On OTT

Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “Dunki” is now streaming on Netflix after it completed its theatrical run. It’s trending in 12 countries at number one, including India, and in the top 10 in 21 countries worldwide, which is a great start.

While theatrical viewers criticized its outlandish plot and outdated execution, the OTT audience seems to be more forgiving, enjoying its emotional core. They are enjoying the emotional drama despite its flaws.

Though not up to Rajkumar Hirani’s usual standards, it is being seen as a harmless watch with the entire family which is a rarity these days.

Netflix reportedly paid a massive Rs 120 crore for the rights. Initially rumored at Rs 155 crore, the actual deal was lower. “Dunki” on Netflix showcases changing viewer habits in the digital age.
