Even a Hidden Force Couldn’t Save Agent!

Vakkantham Vamsi became a star writer after the blockbuster success of Kick, which was directed by Surender Reddy. They collaborated again for flicks like Race Gurram which also turned out to be highly successful. Vakkantham also worked on hit movies like Temper with other directors.

So when Vakkantham Vamsi and Surender Reddy joined forces for Akhil Akkineni’s Agent, the expectations soared high. Vakkantham’s name alone might not have raised such curiosity but his combination with Surender Reddy was termed as lethal and people expected a lot from Agent.

Forget about delivering a film like Kick or Race Gurram, the film couldn’t even reach 10% of the expectations. Vakkantham Vamshi’s story was bland and pedestrian. It is still a surprise how the team approved this story which had no single redeeming point.

People had goodwill about Vakkantham Vamsi because of his past works. Recently a video went viral where he spoke about how he changed the climax of Temper at the last moment which created a tremendous impact. That clip also made people have high expectations from Agent. But Vakkantham Vamsi failed completely in providing a bare-minimum decent story also in Agent.

Vakkantam Vamsi is now working on a film as a writer-director with Nithiin as the hero. Inside reports suggest that all is not going well on the sets of that film. The success of Agent would have made things a bit easier for Vakkantham, but now that Agent has turned out to be a colossal disaster, he will be under tremendous pressure to deliver or else it might be the end of the road for him.
