EXCLUSIVE: Abhishek Agrawal’s Next ‘Gyanvapi’

After producing blockbuster films like Goodachari, The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2, and Dhamaka, Tollywood producer Abhishek Agarwal has now decided to tackle the controversial Gyanvapi Temple-Mosque issue with a movie titled Gyanvapi.

The Gyanvapi Temple-Mosque controversy traces back to a 1991 petition in Varanasi to restore Gyanvapiland to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, claiming the mosque was built under Aurangzeb’s orders, who supposedly damaged the temple in the 16th century.

In 2019, lawyer Vijay Shankar Rastogi filed a petition after the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi verdict, leading to a court directive for an archaeological survey, sparking legal actions.

Recently, the Varanasi court called for a scientific investigation by the ASI, temporarily paused by the Supreme Court. ASI started the survey in August 2023, with extensions for the final report.

The Gyanvapi Masjid case is a complex legal battle with historical and religious implications. The recent decision to disclose the ASI report is a step toward transparency.

Known for making films with nationalistic fervor, Abhishek Agrawal with Gyanvapi movie aims to deeply explore the topic with thorough research, expected to resonate with Hindu audiences, similar to The Kashmir Files and Karthikeya 2.

Stay tuned for official announcements regarding the cast and crew of the film.
