Feb 1st Week BO: Filmmakers Anxious

This February is going to be an interesting one for Tollywood. There arent any big-ticekt releases in February but there are a handful of small and mid-range outings.

The first weekend of February itself is a busy one as we have multiple new releases like Michael, Writer Padmabhushan, and Butta Bomma.

Michael marks young hero Sundeep Kishan’s debut in the pan-Indian space and the trailer looked promising. The film is an action drama with a period set up and it is the costliest project in Sundeep’s Kishan. The film is getting a wide pan Indian release and Sundeep is pinning hopes on the same. It is releasing on 3rd February.

Then comes Writer Padmabhushan which is also releasing on the 3rd of February. The film is running on a decent promotional campaign. The makers appear to be confident about the result as they are holding special screenings for families ahead of the release. Also, there are paid premieres on 2nd February. There’s decent positive vibe surrounding the film.

Lastly, we have Butta Bomma, which has rather lesser-known faces in the lead roles and hence the weaker promotions. The makers are confident about the content and hoping this would be enough to pull the audience to theaters from the 4th of February.

Neither of these releases have pre-set star power and all of them are relying on word of mouth to make hay at the box office.
