She says that she got the inspiration for the female lead from the heroine of Mani Ratnam in ‘Mounaraagam’, the role essayed by senior actress Revathi. Divya is the character name and Malavika Nair’s role will be on similar lines says the director.

The new age love story will have a couple who are commitment phobic like Divya in Mounaraagam. The first meeting of the couple in ‘Pelli Choopulu’ will be totally out of traditional way reveals ths director as they bond over cigarettes.
