Fighter: How Did Director Miss Such Simple Logic?

After WAR and Pathaan, director Siddharth Anand became one of the top directors in the country/. Some critics hailed him as the Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay of India.

But his recent film, Fighter, has turned out to be a huge disappointment at the box office. Despite the film being technically sound and decently entertaining, the film lacked support from mass audiences.

Now director Siddharth Anand in a latest interview has given his views on why Fighter didn’t live up to the box office expectations. His statements have invited manny trolls on social media.

He said, “There is 90 percent of the population in our country who haven’t flown in planes ever and who have never been to an airport. So how do you expect them to know what’s happening in the air during the war scenes in the film? Many in the audience found the concept very alien and couldn’t experience the highs in the screenplay.”

Many in the audience might not have experienced many things shown in movies but still, many movies with novel concepts have become hits. It is the responsibility of the director to make the audience understand what’s happening on the screen.

If the audience is not able to comprehend what’s happening on the big screen then it is the director’s fault and not the audience’s. How did Sid Anand miss such small and obvious logic?
