The much awaited 61st South Filmfare Awards Ceremony was held in Chennai last night. With big stars in attendance and great rocking performances on stage, it was a fun filled gala affair all through. Top heroines like Shruti Haasan and Tapsee rocked the dancing floor while seniors like Kamal Haasan, Rekha, Kushboo, Jaya Chandran graced the event. The fascinating moment was when versatile Kamal Haasan was in attendance while his daughter Shruti performed on the stage.
Coming to the awardees, Mahesh took away the Best Actor Male (Telugu) while Nitya Menon for Best Actor Female (Telugu). ‘Atharintiki Daaredi’ bagged maximum number of awards for Best Director (Trivikram Srinivas), Best Film (BVSN Prasad), Best Lyricist (Srimani) and Best Music Director (Devi Sri Prasad). Sunil bagged Best Supporting Actor Male Award (Tadaaka), while Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna bagged Best Supporting Actor Female (Gundello Godaari). Khailesh Kher Best Singer Award for Pandagala Digivachavu (Mirchi) and Chitra won Best Singer Female Award for Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC). the Best Choreographer Award went to Shekhar for Top Lesipoddi song (Iddarammayilato).
