First 200 cr film in Overseas

‘pk’ turns out to be the first ever movie to have crossed Rs.200 crores overseas beating Aamir’s another movie ‘Dhoom 3’ record of Rs.170 crores. We know Bollywood star hero Aamir Khan’s ‘pk’ has been released in China recently, after the original’s release in December, 2014. The film in China opened to superb collections.

The film’ success in China can be attributed to the univerval concept on God and Godmen and of course the star himself. ‘pk’ has actually opened new market in the form of China to Bollywood films. Earlier overseas market depended on US, UK, UAE and Australia. But expanding the market into China, clearly has been a big boost for the movie collections.

As per the available reports, ‘pk’ isn’t going to stop at this. Rejunevated exploring China’s market, the film is all set to even experiment it’s market in Japan and South Korea. With this film, Aamir Khan has the highest number of films amongst the top five grossers in overseas markets and of course the record of first ever film to collect Rs.200 cr overseas.
