Four lane highway connectivity to Amaravathi

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is keen to connect the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh with all the remote areas of the state from Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema too. The state government is pressurizing the Center to make this happen and the Union Transport Ministry agreed to develop the Anantapur-Guntur and Kurnool-Guntur corridors into four-lane roads.

The state had submitted a detailed blue print regarding this and the Center is expected to allocate Rs 3,000-Rs 4,000 crore. The state government is already incorporating eight-lane and 10-lane road corridors (outer ring roads) in the capital city master plan. This new proposal will increase the connectivity from Capital to the rest of the state which is key to develop the capital area.

The planned 180-km long outer ring road connecting Krishna and Guntur districts already got the promise of the Central government. The project which will cost nearly 9000 Crore will be included in the next road development plan. If the Center turns rigid in this issue as every issue related to the state, Chandrababu Naidu government is planning to execute the project through loans from international agencies.
