Tollywood is in need of a solid commercial film that can pull the audience to theaters and incidentally, Vishwak Sen’s Gangs of Godavari has managed to do this to an extend.
Despite the rather weak and discouraging reviews, the Viswhak starrer managed to post up decent numbers at the box office on its opening day.
Reportedly, the film collected a theatrical share in the range of Rs 3+ crore in the Telugu states on its opening day. This is a decent number considering the market slump that has engulfed Tollywood.
It is reported that the film witnessed an impressive 40% recovery on its opening day and this is a positive start.
The commercial aspects like an item song, and action packed set up appear to have worked for the film in mass centers. But the real question is if it can survive the weekend with this weak talk.
