GHMC to float tenders for multilevel parking

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is mulling on the idea of Multilevel parkings so as to end the parking woes in Hyderabad city. Instead of taking the pain and costs of acquiring land for expanding roads and creating parking spaces, GHMC had identified four vacant government plots where these complexes will come up.

In the first phase, four multilevel automated parking complexes will be built between Moazzam Jahi Market and Nampally. Each parking complex will accommodate 440 cars and 250 two-wheelers. The security and safety of the vehicles parked would be handed over to a private party who will maintain them charging certain fee.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras and other security systems will also be the contractor’s responsibility. GHMC is expected to float tenders for these Multilevel parking in this month itself.
