Horror Elevation or Mother Emotion: Big Breakeven?

This week, two notable films are set to release in theaters, bringing hope to cinemas struggling with empty seats.

The first is Odela 2, a horror-fantasy film, which will hit screens tomorrow, Thursday. Tamannaah and Sampath Nandi have been actively promoting the film.

If the audience responds positively, the film could see strong box office returns, similar to Polimera 2 and Virupaksha, with good word-of-mouth boosting its collections.

The film’s success will depend on how effectively it handles its horror elements, particularly in comparison to films like Arundhati. Tamannaah’s star power is likely to add to the movie’s appeal.

The second film, Arjun S/O Vijayanti, will release on Friday. It has garnered strong support from Kalyan Ram, who believes in the film’s potential, and Jr NTR has praised it as well.

The film, focusing on the emotional bond between a mother (played by Vijayashanti) and her son, is expected to attract family audiences, especially with its emotionally charged climax.

Both films have potential, but their success will hinge on how well they engage audiences.

Odela 2 must justify its horror elements to stand out, while Arjun S/O Vijayanti needs to maintain audience interest throughout its runtime to avoid feeling repetitive.

According to trade reports, the theatrical business for both films has been done far beyond their actual potential, and both films have failed to generate substantial buzz so far.

Trade Experts Say Breakeven Targets:

Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi – 25 Cr

Odela 2 – 1 Cr

Both films will need extraordinary word-of-mouth to achieve breakeven.
