Goodachari 2: Adivi Sesh Ready to Challenge Dhurandhar?

Goodachari 2 builds high expectations

Goodachari 2 is one of those Telugu films that has built strong expectations without relying heavily on star hype. Fans of the first Goodachari have been waiting for the sequel for more than 9 years, and some even hope it can become the Dhurandhar of Tollywood.

Director Rahul Ravindran has now watched a rough edit containing around 70% of the film and is making big claims about what he saw.

Rahul said he was blown away by the visuals, action, plot, and twists. He called Goodachari 2 his favorite Adivi Sesh film so far and claimed that it could raise the benchmark for Indian spy thrillers. He also praised Emraan Hashmi, Wamiqa Gabbi, and the rest of the cast, while calling Adivi Sesh one of the best Indian actors in the spy genre.

There is certainly reason to be curious. Goodachari 2 is reportedly being made on a Rs. 100 crore budget and is much bigger in scale than the original. Vinay Kumar, who previously worked with Sesh as an assistant director, is making his directorial debut. Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi have also joined the franchise.

However, Rahul’s praise needs to be viewed with some caution. He is a close friend of Sesh and has always been highly positive about his work. He also praised Dacoit before its release, but the film eventually received an extremely mixed response.

The sequel clearly has bigger ambitions, and the long wait has only increased curiosity. Now, Adivi Sesh and Vinay Kumar have one major challenge: the film cannot depend only on impressive visuals and action. After all these years, Goodachari 2 needs a story and twists that truly justify the wait.
