Our sources in Tollywood tells us that Government of Andhra Pradesh is considering the approval of permitting 5 shows per day in single screen theaters of the state. There is also a proposal to make it compulsory to screen small movies for at least 2 shows in a day. A G.O. regarding the same is expected very soon. This is a long standing demand of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. They are urging that this decision would eradicate the killing of small movies run when big movies release.
On the other hand, Government is in a dilemma regarding the hike of ticket prices after the big and small producers split vertically on this issue. However, our sources tells us that the price hike will certainly happen some time in future as several bigwigs are lobbying hard for it.
