Mahesh Babu’s latest venture, “Guntur Kaaram,” made its debut on the renowned streaming platform Netflix this Friday.
While classics like “Athadu” and “Khaleja” have garnered widespread acclaim among fans, the latest collaboration between Mahesh and Trivikram Srinivas has failed to live up to expectations, leaving Mahesh’s devoted fan base feeling heavily let down.
The streaming of “Guntur Kaaram” on Netflix has reignited interest among audiences, particularly those who missed the opportunity to experience it in theaters.
Moreover, there is a segment of viewers who have already watched the Telugu version and are now intrigued to watch the Hindi version. Surprisingly, feedback suggests that the Hindi dubbing has been executed neatly and doesn’t give the feel of watching a Telugu dubbed film.
However, the sentiment on the OTT platform closely mirrors that of the theatrical audience, with Trivikram facing significant criticism for an uninspired and outdated script. Thaman is also on the radar of fans for not giving impressive music or BGM.
Nevertheless, Mahesh Babu’s dynamic performance manages to captivate audiences throughout the film’s 150-minute runtime. Despite its flaws, some viewers are viewing the film as harmless entertainment. These individuals were prepared for disappointment following the initial theatrical response, hence their more forgiving stance.
Quite expectedly, the Tamil audience (who had to swallow bitter pills during Varisu, Thunivu, and Beast) are being extra negative for Guntur Kaaram and taking this as an opportunity to bash Telugu films for delivering such bland content.
