HanuMan is going bonkers at the box office. The film is trending at a surprising or perhaps even shockingly good rate at the ticket counters this Sankrathi season. It has set a new non-Rajamouli record in the USA, showing a blockbuster trend in the Hindi belt, and is running to packed capacities in the Telugu states.
Hanuman has clocked a mighty $800K+ Sunday at the USA box office which is next only to Baahubali 2($2.3M) and RRR($1.58M). It has beaten the tally of recent biggie Salaar ($772K). HanuMan will soon emerge as one of the top 5 highest-grossing Telugu films ever in the USA which is a feat that not many expected before the release.
The trend is monstrously good in the Hindi belt as well. It is clocking in the range of Rs 15 crore gross opening weekend. The nett will be around Rs 10 Cr in the first weekend. After a Rs 2 crore nett opening day, the film picked up momentum over the weekend and it appears that the Monday tally will be bigger than the opening day tally, which is a clear sign of a long run.
A long run in Hindi is always the pathway for a pan-India blockbuster and that is exactly where HanuMan is headed now.
The film has limited screens in the Telugu states but it is running to packed capacities in each and every major center which is again another big positive. It is going on stellar run in all major bases – Telugu states, USA, and Hindi and it is already Tollwood’s first pan-Indian hit of 2024.
