This might turn out to be a boon for this week’s release, Happy Birthday starring Lavanya Tripathi and directed by Ritesh Rana. Director’s last film Matthu Vadalara was a decent hit, and the same thing is expected from Happy Birthday as well.
The film is going to enjoy a solo weekend as Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You has been postponed, and Pakka Commercial would have run out its fuel. So practically, empty theaters would be awaiting to welcome Happy Birthday.
The bookings for Happy Birthday in Hyderabad have been opened, and the heartening thing is its smart pricing of tickets. Premium multiplex AMB cinemas is charging only ₹200 rs. A few other single screens also opened bookings with a maximum price of ₹110.
This is a good move from the producers and as well as distributors/exhibitors to keep the rates within reach of the common audience. The film is targeted mainly at urban crowds, but with this pricing, even the masses might give the movie a try which might help in attracting more footfalls to the film.
It would be interesting to see if the movie takes the full benefit of this smart move.
