Hari Hara Veera Mallu OTT: Sooner than Expected?

After years of production delays and much anticipation, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has ended up as one of the biggest letdowns of 2025. Promoted as Pawan Kalyan’s ambitious pan-India debut, the film failed to connect with audiences and bombed at the box office despite heavy promotions and star power. Trade analysts have already labeled it a major disaster.

Now, speculation is growing that the film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 22, which coincides with Chiranjeevi’s birthday. Though there’s no official confirmation yet, the makers are reportedly aiming to use this emotional and festive date to attract viewers. An early OTT release, less than a month after its theatrical debut, may help the team recoup losses through digital and satellite deals.

Starring Nidhhi Agerwal opposite Pawan Kalyan, the film also features Bobby Deol, Sunil, Nassar, and Sachin Khedekar in important roles. Despite a strong soundtrack composed by MM Keeravaani, the film’s flaws—ranging from its prolonged five-year production to a change in directors—became hard to ignore. Last-minute promotions and premiere events led by Pawan Kalyan couldn’t save it.

Smaller films like Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narasimha surprisingly outperformed HHVM in several territories, adding to the disappointment. Mythri Movie Makers, who secured the Nizam rights, are reportedly facing heavy losses. People Media Factory spent nearly Rs. 40 crores to complete the film, though details of their financial arrangements with Pawan Kalyan remain unclear.

With a pre-release business exceeding Rs. 120 crores, most buyers are now only hoping to recover basic expenses such as GST. Whether any kind of compensation will be provided by the makers is still uncertain.
