Harish Shankar Living in La La Land? Daily Feast for Trolls

Director Harish Shankar is once again under fire after the disastrous response to Ustaad Bhagat Singh. After the terrible Mr. Bachchan, many expected him to bounce back strongly with Pawan Kalyan’s film. Instead, the film ended up disappointing a large section of the audience, and the director’s post release statements have only added fuel to the fire.

Despite the negative response, Harish Shankar openly claimed in interviews that the film is a hit. That did not sit well with netizens, who started trolling him heavily. Even when he tried to brush it off by saying trolls survive on such content, his latest comments have given them even more material.

Now, the biggest trigger is his statement about wanting to immediately direct Chiranjeevi.

During a recent interaction, when asked about directing Pawan Kalyan’s son Akira Nandan, Harish Shankar diverted the topic and said he is currently focused on making a film with Chiranjeevi. He confidently stated that he is already working on a story for the megastar and is actively trying to make that project happen.

He also highlighted that he has already worked with multiple Mega family heroes like Allu Arjun, Varun Tej, and Sai Dharam Tej, apart from doing two films with Pawan Kalyan. According to him, directing Chiranjeevi is now his immediate goal.

Harish went a step further and described the kind of film he wants to make, an out and out mass entertainer in the zone of classics like Rowdy Alludu, Gang Leader, and Donga Mogudu. He specifically mentioned Chiranjeevi’s body language, swagger, and iconic mannerisms as elements he wants to celebrate on screen.

But here is the problem, timing.

Coming right after back-to-back disasters, this level of confidence is not going down well with Mega fans. Many feel Harish should first prove himself again with a solid hit before aiming for a project with Megastar. The gap between his statements and recent results is exactly what is triggering the backlash.

At this point, Harish Shankar is not just dealing with trolling for his films. He is also getting heavily criticized for his statements. Unless he delivers a strong comeback soon, every statement of his is a feast for trolls.
