Who Is the Heroine Rejected Lesbian Role in Awe?

Those who watched ‘Awe‘ know that it an out-and-out, out-of-the-box movie that is new to the Tollywood audiences. A few roles have the shock value and Eesha Rebba’s role as a lesbian girl who falls in love with Nitya Menen is one of them.

Initially, the director had a couple of names in his mind for the role. When he approached a heroine who he thought was suitable for the role, she rejected it outrightly and stopped even answering the director’s phone calls after hearing to the narration. Then, the role went to Eesha.

On paper, ‘Awe’ is a different script to convince and that too when a debutante director is on board. We can’t blame the heroine for rejecting the lesbian character, though. The other three heroines aka Nitya Menen, Kajal Agarwal and Regina Cassandra okayed the script in one go.
