Hi-Fi graveyards to rock with Cafeteria & Wi-Fi!

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is teaming up with Phoenix Foundation to create modern graveyards. Currently the graveyards in Hyderabad city are in very pitiable condition with many of them are encroached too. This new graveyards will have ultra modern facilities like cafeteria, Wi-Fi, shower bathrooms, lockers and modernized electric crematorium.

One graveyard named Mahaprasthanam is already constructed on this basis at Jubilee Hills, Road No. 45. The graveyard spreading across 3.7 acres has been constructed with a budget of 3 crore. GHMC is planning more of such graveyards in PPP model with facilities like sufficient number of piers, an electric pier, storage rooms, restrooms, washrooms, on-site traditional pandit, flower arrangement, car parking etc.

These graveyards will also have the facility of live streaming of the entire process with the help of Wi-Fi connectivity. This will enable relatives of deceased living abroad or out of the state to watch the last rites on social networking sites.
