High Court Puts a Stay on Mass Star’s Movie

What is there in a name? It is everything for a movie and a correct title for any movie is like a heart. That’s the reason why filmmakers register the title of their movies before someone else claims the right over it.

The teaser of Tamil mass star Vijay’s movie ‘Mersal‘ is creating records as it turned out to be the most liked teaser, till date. But, here cropped up a problem. A petition was filed against the makers of the movie as the title ‘Mersal’ wasn’t registered by them.

One Rajendran filed the petition claiming that he had registered the title in 2014 and hence, sought an interim stay on the film. The High Court banned the use of the title ‘Mersal’ till the next hearing i.e., 3rd October and hence there would be no promotional activities using the title.
