High Court serious on TDP merging in to TRS!

Hyderabad High Court had issued notices to Telangana Council Chairman, Swamy Goud on the issue of merging Telugu Desam Party in to TRS in the council. Swamy Goud in the last assembly session announced that TDP is merged with TRS and recognized five TDP MLCs as TRS members.

The court asked the Chairman to clarify on what grounds he announced the merger. This move left TDP with only two MLCs – Arikela Narsireddy and Potla in Council. And there arises a legal issue so as to which party these 2 MLCs belong since there is no TDP according to the Chairman in Telangana council.

There is nothing in constitution which recognizes a party as merged in Council but exists in Assembly and else where. We will have to see if Swamy Goud replies to the notices or reject saying that courts can not interfere in to Council’s jurisdiction!
