Highest paid in South: Pawan or Vijay?

It is a known fact that Tollywood produces more films than Bollywood every year. And Kollywood isn’t far behind. South Indian Film Industry produces approximately 500-600 films a year and one can easily understand that hundreds of crores of rupees go into the making of these films and actors’ remuneration also comes into count.

Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Vijay certainly will be amongst the highest paid actors in south. But the top positions regarding remunerations belong to the senior duo, Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan with Rs.30 crores and Rs.25 crores respectively followed by powerstar Pawan Kalyan charging Rs.18 crores for his films. Vijay also is charging the same as Pawan while Surya is just a crore less followed by Mahesh Babu and Ajith, each charging Rs.16 crores for one film.

Coming to the younger heroes it is Ram Charan and Jr NTR who are charging high, Rs.12 crore per film (Vikram also falls into their category regarding remuneration), Allu Arjun and Prabhas Rs.10 crore each. Dhanush & Karthi Rs.8 crores each while Ravi Teja and Shimbu Rs.7 crores. Among Telugu senior actors, Balakrishna is the only name who is still in the top 20 list charging Rs.5 crore for each film.
