Hindi BO: Godfather Ends As A Disaster

Opening up the Hindi market has been a hard nut to crack for Chiranjeevi. He tried his hand at with Sye Raa by bringing in Amitabh Bachchan but the move failed and the film went nowhere at the Bollywood box office.

Cut to now, Chiru touched the Hindi market again with Godfather which has mainstream superstar Salman Khan in one of the central roles. But again, the effort has gone waste.

Godfather has collected a mere Rs 4.30 crores in Hindi in 6 days which is an abysmally poor number. The presence of Salman Khan has clearly accounted for nothing here.

There was a complaint that Godfather wasn’t promoted well in the Hindi market as the makers settled with one solitary press meet.

Whatever might be the reason, the aforementioned number is a disaster for a film featuring Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan.

To put that into perspective, Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 collected over Rs 30 crores in its full run in the Hindi belt. Godfather might close at around 5-6 crores.
