Nani’s Attempt Mocked, Yet Fair Point

With the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan and the escalating threat of war, nearly every industry is in panic mode — and the film industry is no exception.

Strong rumors are already circulating that we’ll see a wave of movie postponements in the coming days, as the future remains highly uncertain.

In this scenario, Nani’s decision to go ahead with the HIT 3 success meet has not sat well with many.

What sparked even more backlash was the explanation Nani gave on stage yesterday.

He said he didn’t want to give Pakistan any reason to feel victorious, and that’s why holding the success event and he wanted to send the message that they couldn’t even disrupt a film function.

While Nani tried to elaborate on this reasoning, his attempt came off as desperate — it was clear he was trying hard to justify why the success meet was going forward at such a sensitive time.

Interestingly, even Samantha, who produced Subham (released yesterday), chose to skip her media appearance, likely aware that public events right now might seem insensitive or poorly timed.

Perhaps Nani was eager to wrap up the promotions and firmly label HIT 3 as a hit in the public eye.

But what he didn’t realize is that skipping the success meet wouldn’t have changed much.

Despite some initial hype — in North America — the film hasn’t even broken even. Nani himself toured the U.S. to promote the film, and it’s currently sitting at around $2.2 million, still struggling to reach break-even, let alone deliver profits to buyers.

In this context, Nani’s decision to push ahead with the success meet and his justifications for doing so have not landed well.

Clips of his speech are now circulating on social media platforms like X and WhatsApp, with many mocking what they see as a desperate and ill-timed move.

A netizen mocked Nani, saying, “Pakistan lost satisfaction over the IPL and several Indian flight cancellations, but Nani delivered a blow to Pakistan’s morale by holding the HIT 3 success meet.”
