Hundreds of single theatres prone to fire accidents

Among the places where we see hundreds of people flock together, cinema halls are the most common places wherein if there is any mishap, there is every possibility of a massive stampede among other risks. Coming to the position of theatres in the GHMC region, hundreds of theatres lack safety measures against fire accidents.

That only means that they are prone to fire accidents and they are most likely to face ban. Fire prevention wing of GHMC says that 70 percent of theatres lack basic things like water supply to the overhead tank or fire extinguishers. It’s likely that such theatres’ licenses will be cancelled.

Keeping in view, the number of lives put at risk, GHMC has to improve the number of the Fire Prevention staff and also implement the rules strictly with regular check ups and cancelling licenses of the defaulters.
