Hyd blogger gets legal notice from Flipkart

E-Commerce major Flipkart had sent a legal notice to a Hyderabad blogger threatening to sue him over alleged trademark infringement. The blogger Amit Bhawani reportedly used Flipkart Logo and as well as the company name in his domain amazonvsflipkart.com.

Bhawani was using the domain to host a survey comparing the two companies on various parameters such as overall service and website interface. Amazon was leading the survey when this legal notice happened indicating the reason.

Flipkart argued that usage of Flipkart logo and name in the domain name amounts to infringement of their registered trademark. Bhawani handed over the domain to Flipkart and from then Flipkart had taken a lead over Amazon in the survey.
