Hyd Drugs Case: Tollywood Director Arrested

There have been two major drug busts in Hyderabad in the last 3 weeks and these have now resulted in a fair few celebrities and politicians getting arrested.

The latest news is that a Tollywood director named Manthena Vasu Varma and a writer named Manneri Prudhvi Krishna alias Divakar have been arrested in the drugs case.

Vasu Varma directed a film named Basthi and he also produced it. He also runs a trust. He was arrested by Madhapur police on the charges of drugs procurement and consumption.

The said writer, Prudhvi Krishna is also allegedly a habitual drug consumer. These two individuals were arrested on the 5th of September itself, but the news wasn’t revealed to the media by Madhapur police till now.

The ongoing investigation is said to be on course to reveal the names of several other prominent personalities who are involved with drugs procurement and consumption.

It is known that actor Navdeep was also investigated in the case recently. He said he hadn’t consumed any drugs in 3 years and he is clean now.
