Hyd in Urgent need of Cyber Security

With new users getting on the internet every day, they are becoming easy marks for cyber fraudsters. Just in Hyderabad alone, over one hundred and fifty cases of cyber frauds were reported in the last two years.

These include traps where the users get emails promising them a huge sum of money or a large amount of jewellery if they would pay the custom charges. When this money is sent, the victim never hears from the perpetrator again. Another type of fraud increasingly seen in Hyderabad is posting fake profiles on matrimonial websites and duping women by promising to marry them.

Moreover, recent cyber attacks such as Nigerian cyber criminals hacking the Telangana state’s Mee Seva website and siphoning off Rs 1.5 crores have alerted the Telangana Government to importance of cyber protection and coming up with new and effective strategies to counter these attacks.
