I Got Trolled for Rakul’s Dresses – Director

Singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada, director Rahul Ravindran’s wife is quite known on social media circles for her fight against those who objectify women. Her feminist stance has been creating problems for her husband and his upcoming movie ‘Manmadhudu 2‘.

Talking about this particular issue, Rahul Ravindran narrated how he was trolled for Rakul’s dresses when the teaser came out. The trolls questioned him about Rakul’s dresses while his wife has been advocating against objectifying women using skimpy clothes.

However, Rahul says that Rakul’s dresses have got nothing with his wife Chinmayi’s stance about women and the issues she takes up. It’s a character for him in his movie and that’s the way the character behaves as per the story, said Rahul Ravindran justifying the way Rakul was shown in the teaser.

In fact, Nagarjuna wanted a strong teaser for Rakul that would take her strongly into the audiences. He is aware of the fact that her smoking scene has led to a lot of social media trolling but, that’s the way it was with the role he had written. Let’s wait and see if the movie is going to be a fun ride or else, a hornets nest of controversies.
