Musical Geniuses Come Together To Give Lifetime Memories

It was an evening of a lifetime for everyone who attended the Ilaiyaraaja 75 event held in Chennai. The reason was the presence of two legendary musicians on the same dais, Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman.

Fan wars among music director might not be that big a phenomena in Telugu and that too is the last three decades, but that isn’t the case in Tamil. AR Rahman was always seen as a legend killer, the ‘legend’ here being Ilaiyaraaja. To see them coming together on the same stage was a dream come true moment for music lovers. What’s more, AR Rahman played Ilaiyaraaj melodies as a keyboard player recounting his old memories.

Tamil Film Producers’ Council has planned a celebratory function for the Legend Ilaiyaraaja as he completed 75 years. It is a two days function and the first day saw AR Rahman as the special guest. On the second day, many more celebrities are going to join the musical night.
