India Not Source of Thandel HD Print Leak

Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel is out in theatres, but the team is not very happy, as the HD print of the film was leaked within hours of its theatrical release.

Producers Bunny Vasu and Allu Aravind held a press meet to raise awareness about the legal action being taken against those spreading Thandel’s HD print links on WhatsApp and Telegram channels.

Bunny Vasu stated that the leak did not originate in India but overseas.

He explained that a Tamil version of the film was likely recorded in HD, and Telugu audio was later synced to it.

Tamil films generally face much harsher piracy issues than Telugu films.

Since Thandel is a pan-India film, the possibility of such leaks was always present. This is a nightmare for any producer who invests heavily in a film, as piracy is a major revenue killer.

Thandel HD print is already being watched on mobile phones, in travel buses, and in casual settings without any fear of legal consequences.

Piracy awareness remains very low in India, with many people unaware that it is a crime. This lack of awareness is one of the biggest challenges in combating piracy.
