Indian origin couple faces 10 yr jail in US!

An Indian origin doctor couple was convicted for a $2.5 million health care fraud in US. The couple Paramjit Singh Ajrawat, 60, and his wife Sukhveen Kaur Ajrawat, 57, operated Washington Pain Management Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

They were said to be engaged in fraud by misusing the federal health benefit programmes, including Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE. The fraud amounted to at least $2.5 million to the US government.

They claimed to have performed some procedures at their clinic or performed less expensive procedures. But they have raised huge bills for reimbursements. They now face a maximum 10 years in prison and the sentencing will be done on February 1st 2016.
