Indraja Speaks Out on Fake Success Meets
Senior actress Indraja has openly slammed the trend of holding success meets for films that fail at the box office. She made it clear that she will attend promotional events for the films she works in but will not attend a success meet unless the film has genuinely succeeded.
Indraja made these comments at the thanks meet of Anakapalli, starring Vikram Sahadev, son of producer Lagadapati Sridhar. Her remarks have grabbed attention as fake success celebrations have become a regular talking point in Telugu cinema.
Indraja said promoting a film is the responsibility of every actor involved, regardless of the size of their role. Producers, directors, actors and technicians put in a lot of effort to make a film. Promotions help take their work to audiences. She considers attending interviews and promotional events part of her professional and moral responsibility.
However, she draws a clear line when it comes to success meets.
Indraja said she would attend a success meet only if a film genuinely performs well. If a film fails to attract audiences and crashes at the box office, she will not be part of an event celebrating its success.
Coming to Anakapalli, the film received mixed reviews and turned into a box-office washout, with negligible collections. Ironically, Indraja attended the thanks meet of a film that failed at the box office while bashing fake success meets. Some social media users have pointed out this contradiction.
