Very recently, noted producer Suresh Babu confirmed that all of his upcoming projects, including Virata Parvam and Drushyam 2 will be going the OTT way. Now, an interesting speculation pertaining to Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi starrer Virata Parvam’s OTT release is catching attention. It is heard that the producer of the project, Suresh Babu is worried about the theatrical prospects of the film and that is the reason why he is going for direct to OTT release.

As per reports, Virata Parvam is a periodic rustic action drama that is set in a rural Telangana backdrop. Now, Suresh Babu is said to be looking at the bigger picture and he is worried if the film will actually cater to the wider section of the audience. He is apparently not sure if all sections of the audience will step out to watch this regional film in big numbers, especially amid the Covid situation. Also, with all the reshoots upon Suresh Babu’s recommendations through the course of the filming, the production costs shot up steeply.

All these factors combined, Suresh Babu sees OTT as the right mode of release for Virata Parvam, say reports. It is known that Netflix had bagged the post-theatrical digital streaming rights of Virata Parvam a long while ago. The OTT giant should now be in the pole position to bag the direct to digital rights of the film. An official announcement on the same is awaited though. Virata Parvam is directed by Venu Udugula. The unit complete the filming very recently.
